Washington Roundtable And The Boston Consulting Group To Release Study Examining State’s Five-Year Jobs Outlook And Levels Of Education Washington Students Will Need To Succeed

The press conference will be held on the 3rd floor of the Innovation Center, which can be accessed from the North Elevator in the Innovation Center garage. Signs will be posted inside the Innovation Center to direct you.

Parking is available on the 1st and 2nd levels of the Innovation Center garage. There is additional parking in the McKinstry overflow lot, just north of the Grainger Building (across the street from the Innovation Center). Note, if you park in a numbered “visitor” space, you must check in with the receptionist at McKinstry’s main building.

WHAT:
Washington Roundtable and The Boston Consulting Group will release a study that:

• Examines Washington’s five-year jobs outlook including the total number of projected job openings and a comparison to the national job growth rate,
• Categorizes anticipated job openings based on median salary and potential for upward mobility,
• Outlines the expected education attainment levels of workers who will fill jobs in each category, and
• Assesses the education attainment level of Washington students compared to what is needed for success in the state’s future workforce.
• Quantifies the benefits of raising the postsecondary attainment rate for kids growing up in Washington and the impacts of preparing more Washington kids for Washington jobs.
