Boeing Announces $54 Million in Grants and Sponsorships to Nonprofits Around the World

Boeing is on track to surpass $200 million in total community giving in 2018. That is the news delivered by Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Dennis Muilenburg during a keynote address to members of the Economic Club in Washington, D.C. “That’s a significant sum and shows how our company is driving innovation, supporting our people and improving Boeing communities around the world,” he said while announcing $54 million in grants and philanthropic sponsorships to nonprofits within the U.S. and around the world. Kaiser Permanente to Offer 20 Scholarships for Medical Assistants

In partnership with Seattle Central College, Kaiser Permanente will offer 20 scholarships for students to study medical assisting at Seattle Vocational Institute (SVI) this fall. Students can earn full tuition, as well as stipends for books, supplies and fees. Recipients will participate in an internship at a medical clinic and will have ongoing mentoring and professional development from Kaiser Permanente staff. In the Roundtable’s 2016 report, Pathways to Great Jobs in Washington State, we wrote that primary care and specialty clinics in our state anticipate hiring 3,000 medical assistants by 2021. Microsoft Ability Summit Day 2: Accessibility Product Expo and Disability Inclusion Job Fair

Microsoft is pleased to invite you to Ability Summit 2018 at the Microsoft Conference center on May 31st for an afternoon of learning, networking, and fun. The day will focus on members of the disability community with a goal of building awareness around accessibility and disability inclusion and providing networking opportunities. Anyone who is interested in learning more about Accessibility at Microsoft is welcome to attend. The afternoon event will feature a message from CEO Satya Nadella, a Job Fair, Product Expo, and Inclusive Tech Lab. The Job Fair will include 15 external companies – including Roundtable member companies Alaska Airlines and Starbucks – all with a goal of meeting candidates with disabilities and educating them about opportunities available to them.
