Celebrating STEM students

On April 29, more than 600 high school seniors across the U.S. – including 46 Washington students – were honored through a virtual STEM Signing Day ceremony, presented by Boeing. Learn more in this Partnership for Learning story.

Boeing shares diversity, equity, and inclusion data and defines the company’s aspirations to address representation gaps and build a culture of inclusion in its 2021 Global Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Report. Starbucks details its progress toward advancing racial and social equity, becoming a resource-positive company, sourcing coffee responsibly, and more in its 2020 Global Environmental and Social Impact Report.  

Assisting with COVID-19 vaccination efforts

The Seattle Sounders will partner with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and the City of Seattle, with assistance from Lumen Field and First & Goal Inc., to offer COVID vaccinations to all eligible fans at home games.

Producing cancer-fighting cells

A recent article highlighted a Bristol Myers Squibb facility in Bothell that modifies the blood cells of patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma to locate and destroy cancer cells.

Protecting endangered species

Vulcan’s Machine Learning team partnered with SR3 to develop a tool to help researchers analyze large numbers of photos faster so they can provide health metrics for Southern Resident killer whales.
