Launching a cybersecurity jobs campaign
To address the cybersecurity workforce shortage, Microsoft is launching a four-year campaign to help fill 250,000 U.S. cybersecurity jobs by 2025. The campaign includes making curriculum free to all U.S. public community colleges, providing faculty training at 150 community colleges, and providing scholarships and resources to 25,000 students.
Improving equity in clinical trials
The Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation recently announced the first group of physicians from across the U.S., including from Washington, selected for its Diversity in Clinical Trials Career Development Program. Applications for future participants are now open. In addition, Seattle Business recently featured Dr. Teri Foy of Bristol Myers Squibb, who shared her experiences and advice after more than 25 years of biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry experience.
Improving energy efficiency
bp is investing almost $270 million in three projects at Cherry Point Refinery that will reduce its carbon dioxide emissions and increase its renewable diesel production capability. The projects will create more than 300 local jobs over the next three years. Learn more here.
