Joe Coote
CEO, Darigold
Joe Coote joined Darigold, Inc., the marketing and processing arm of the Northwest Dairy Association, in 2020 as President of the co-op’s Global Ingredients division. Hired with succession in mind, Mr. Coote was named CEO in 2022. Coote came to Darigold with a demonstrated track record of leadership in consumer-packaged goods and food, including deep experience and expertise in the global and U.S. dairy sectors, most recently serving in various leadership roles with Fonterra Co-operative Group, the world’s largest exporter of dairy products, where he held a variety of global leadership roles spanning commercial leadership of the Americas, supply chain and operations, economic optimization, and value chain transformation.
Coote began his career with the global consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers where he held senior consulting roles with a focus on retail and consumer supply chains. After completing an assignment with Coles Mayer, Australia’s largest retail group, he joined that firm to lead a six-year supply chain transformation initiative that delivered higher service and quality, while reducing lead times and total delivered costs.
